Mission and Location
Mission Statement
The mission of the HRMS Library Learning Center is to support and enhance our school's curriculum by providing access to a collection of print and non-print materials, in a nurturing educational environment. Here at Holly Ridge Middle School, we believe when librarians and teachers work together, students achieve higher levels of literacy (reading, writing, speaking and listening), problem-solving, information literacy and communication technology skills. Teaching our students to become responsible digital citizens and encouraging a life-long love of reading through a variety of genres is of utmost importance. These skills are essential to a student's academic, social, and emotional development.
Loan Policy
Students may check out up to three books at a time for a two-week loan period. They may renew the books if more time is needed. It's important for students to be responsible library citizens. If materials are lost or damaged beyond repair, students are responsible for the replacement cost. If a student has a book that is excessively overdue (months), the student will not be able to check out until the book is returned or paid for.
